Pine trees are susceptible to bark beetles, which bore through the bark and cambium (where growth occurs) of the tree contributing to tree decline.  Unfortunately, even healthy trees are at risk of attracting bark beetles.

To prevent the spread and infestation of bark beetles, the ideal time to prune your pines is in the winter when the bark beetle is not actively infesting new hosts.  By the time the season changes to spring and warmer temperatures arrive, the tree has stopped the flow of sap out of the pruning cuts, which attracts bark beetles.

Call today to schedule your winter pine-pruning and learn more about how to keep your trees healthy!
