We look forward to finishing up our volunteer work in the yard and seeing the end results." - Erin Acton | FROM THE UNION.COM Employees of a Grass Valley real estate office spent Saturday helping one family give their newly purchased fixer-upper a face lift. The team at Re/Max organized a group of about 20 community volunteers, including workers from Acton Arboriculture, to trim trees, paint walls and pick up trash at the Alta Sierra home recently purchased by Peter and Kate Lance. Peter Lance, 54, is a former arborist who was seriously injured in December 2013 after falling from a tree. He suffered a broken neck, which resulted in permanent reduced function and sensation in all of his limbs. Because of his injuries, Lance is generally confined to a wheelchair.
